6th Annual Punderson ICE BOWL

List-of-food-items-for-pantryBeginning in 2009, the Friends of Punderson Disc Golf League has held an annual Ice Bowl. The Ice Bowl is a collection of disc golf events that are held each year in January and February with an overall mission of raising funds to fight hunger. Related goals include having fun and connecting the disc golf community in a positive way to the community at large.

Each year, our Ice Bowl has benefited Geauga County Job and Family Services. With admission, participants are asked to bring non-perishable food items or a monetary donation in the absence of a food item.

Because our winters are particularly brutal, we are happy to have such an avid group of disc golfers who show up each year to support this event!

Thank you to everyone who made the drive in those horrific, yet typical Northeast Ohio conditions!

20140125_114807We raised a total of $385.00 for Geauga County Job and Family Services and provided somewhere around 30-40lbs of food… maybe more than that, we didn’t get the exact weight but we had a GREAT HAUL! So thank you to all who supported the event.

Also a big THANK YOU to Bob Becker and Cupcake for preparing and bringing warm food as the park does not have anyone running the Chalet this year.

Also to Tom Mote, Eric Boyd, Andy Morrison, the State Park and everyone else who helped to prepare for this event and make it a success… We don’t want to leave anyone out!!

Punderson Disc Golf Ice Bowl 2014 – January 25th

Mark your calendars for January 25th! The Punderson Ice Bowl will be 18 Holes Red to Longs. We are again supporting Geauga County Job and Family Services so we request that you bring at least 2 non-perishable food items with your registration fee. Mulligans will be available. We have the Sports Chalet! So you will be able to warm up by the fire before and after the round. If we have snow, bring the family to enjoy the sledding at the Sports Chalet, the indoor pool at the manor house or sight seeing around the lake.
